Even Black Capitol Rioters Are Being Treated Different Than Counter Parts

Guess who's getting out and guess who's not.

Watch: Today's Epidose of Icon City News or Read Story Below

Emmanuel Jackson is an African-American Trump supporter who was involved in the January 6 attack on the United States Capitol building.

For reasons unknown at the time of this article's deadline we're not quite sure why but he's not eligible for bail when so many of his counterparts are not.

It appears as though Emmanuel was identified in social media footage wielding a metal bat during the insurrection.

Interestingly enough Breitbart is running a story saying that he was not there for Donald Trump. Obviously, they are using him to provide some cover for the mob of thousand of actual Trump supporters.

This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.

Trump Could Have Pardoned Lil Wayne...He Didn't

Hope it was worth it.

When Lil Wayne originally made news for supporting former president Donald Trump many suspected that there had to be some type of quid pro quo involved. Now we know that Lil Wayne was seeking relief from his federal legal problems. In this instance, Trump made good on his promises...at least kind of.

Instead of offering Lil Wayne a full pardon which would have in essence erased the rapper's sentence, Trump issued a commutation thus removing the sentence but maintaining the conviction and criminal record.

Update: The original article below was published before Wayne made news endorsing President Trump. Read our reaction here or watch below:

Rapper Releases "Funeral" On The Same Day That America Democracy Dies.

Hip-Hop superstar Lil Wayne's first release since 2018 is sharing #trending status with the third ever impeachment trial of a U.S. President.

In many aspects the social media users participating in both of these cultural moments might as well be on different planets. While hip-hop lovers are no doubt celebrating a return to the strong "lyricism" that's been absent in the mumble rap movement.

On the other hand you have politicians and the chattering class lamenting the end of the "rule of law" as Republican's refuse to hear more evidence in the impeachment trial of Donald J Trump, despite pretty much knowing he's guilty. Not to mention the endless drip of additional information like the fact that Pat Cipollone, the president's White House counsel was involved in the Ukraine extortion scandal as early as May.

That's why I decided to see if the great Weezy has ever spoke on the cheetah in chief. As it turns out that's not something he's really interested in doing. In a Kanye world, we'll take it. Actually according to Lil Wayne he doesn't even know who the guy is.

Back in 2016 in an interview with Paper Magazine when asked if he had any words for Donald Trump, he simply laughed and showed that he has truly transcended the mortal world, saying, "Who's that?"

In honor of Wayne's latest release, I'm gonna take a page out of his book. Don't expect any more articles about D.C. this weekend. Maybe I'll get my strength back on Monday ,but for now I'm gonna roll up a fatty and lose myself in Wayne's new album because it's truly a masterpiece.

Stand Out Tracks

The internet is going crazy over "Mama Mia" which it should be my favorite ,but it is the posse track "I Do It" (listen below) featuring Big Sean and Lil Baby.

Why Are Some Black Men Supporting Donald Trump?

(Because they never meant us any good.)

Lil Wayne recently made headlines as the latest rapper to endorse Republican presidential candidate Donald J Trump. While many of us are scratching our heads over this latest phenomenon we’re going to take a stab at making sense out of it.

The first thing that has to be considered is the fact that these rappers are not people who’ve dedicated their entire lives to equality, democracy, and governance. Far from the conscience leaders of hip-hop legends like Conscious, Mos Def, or Q-Tip, the rapper who's come out in support of Trump come from a similar get rich or die trying kind of background. (See Video Above)

50 Cent has since backtracked on his Trump endorsement while Ice Cube says that his photo op with Trump wasn't misconstrued by the media. Publicity stunt or not there is polling data to suggest that Trump is growing his support with black men. In the case of the rappers mentioned above, they're likely merely following their financial interests. Systematically black men's conservative views towards LGBT issues, women's rights may be at the root. In fact, the very social net that democrats and liberals promote are often inaccessible to many black men because of criminal records.

Although most of America's progress is owed to the efforts of a coalition of sexual, racial, and gender minorities as well as liberal elites, black men have increasingly felt left out of this equation. For example, I've noticed a lot of frustration with the term "people of color" feeling like it obscures or takes away from the plight of actual black men. And some of them would even say by shared identities of being black but also gay separates me from a traditional experience. I'm not here to say that they're wrong as much as I'm here to say that this sudden divisive epiphany is not their own. If they were, they wouldn't of come right before the general election.
