Potential Vice Prez Nom. Had Opportunity To Charge Cop Who Killed George Floyd

Is Amy Klobuchar disqualified?

The scrutiny surrounding the murder of innocent and unarmed black man George Floyd has turned out some interesting information about Amy Klobuchar's record as a former prosecutor.

According to records, Klobuchar declined to prosecute one of the officers involved in Floyd's demise. This presidential cycle was not particularly favorable to prosecutors as Klobuchar and fellow former 2020 primary candidate Kamala Harris failed to gain tractions in part because of their pasts in law enforcement.

When the former vice president and presumptive 2020 Democratic presidential candidate committed to picking a female running mate, we knew that Klobuchar and other former female presidential candidates would be under consideration and the scrutiny would begin anew.

The question now is whether or not this information disqualifies Amy Klobuchar from being the right candidate for this time. Of course, there's an argument for getting the details about the cop's previous behavior and the specific circumstances of the complaints made about the officer during Klobuchar's tenure.

There is yet another school of thought that reasons that Klobuchar's presence on the ticket would help Democrats win over working-class white people in the fall thanks to her mid-west bona fides.
