Bubba Wallace Is Nobody's Jussie Smollett

And you're stupid if you went there. After news reports about the hanging of a noose in the racing stall of Nascar's only African-American driver Sunday, racist or their online sympathizers took to twitter with a conspiracy theory likening this incident to the Jussie Smollett scandal. Wallace's is nobody's Smollett for a variety of reasons. Firstly and probably most importantly,(because this is about to get real superficial real quick), Jussie Smollett's alleged attack happened under decidedly questionable circumstances. The center of a notoriously liberal city(Chicago) in the middle of sub-zero temperatures doesn't seem the most logical locale for a hate crime. Conversely, a sporting event featuring a plane flying over the venue with a humongous confederate flag does. Furthermore, Wallace's support of removing that specific flag from Nascar properties is what launched him into the highest heights of notoriety. He's cute, but we weren't checking for him. I told you it was about to get superficial. If you believe all black people look alike, then I can understand confusing the two men. However, if you really love black men, then you know that the good Lord didn't bless them the same way. Sorry, Jussie. Lastly, unlike Smollett, Wallace didn't set out to become an activist. Before that unfortunate night in Chicago, Jussie Smollett was a well known and well-respected fixture in the fight for gay rights and equality for people of color. Although I believe Wallace understands his mere presence in the racing world is a quiet type or progressive activism, the reporter asked him for his thoughts on the confederate flag's prominence at Nascar events. He did not hold a rally or lead a protest. He gave his opinion. Someone in Talladega gave him a noose simple. He's no Smollette and likely didn't set out to be a Kapernick either, but all the people on twitter already know this. Instead, the chorus of twitter bots, uneducated sycophants, and lonely contrarians are purposely dishonest to manufacture chaos.
